The success of Riverhill School depends on the active involvement of many, and the local community is
always ready to step up to the challenge. Our students support the school through their hard work at school and their mature behavior as they represent the school to the community. The parents at Riverhill are exceptional as well, helping through RAPs, working as Room Moms, giving to Annual Giving and the Staff Appreciation Fund, and so much more. Our very active Board of Directors includes current and former parents as well as community leaders. Without everyone involved, Riverhill would not be the amazing family that it is today.
Riverhill strives to keep tuition and fees as low as possible to make our program affordable for more students. In independent education, however, tuition does not cover the true cost of a child’s education. We depend on income from our Annual Giving through gifts from our parents, alumni, and community. These tax-deductible gifts provide vital subsidies for a high-quality experience.
Financial Support
In an effort to enable as many families as possible to take advantage of the Academic Excellence offered at Riverhill School, tuition costs are kept low. As a result, yearly tuition covers only about seventy percent of budget needs. Tuition dollars are stretched to the limit, but the lifeline of our school comes in the form of tax-deductible donations from parents, grandparents, and friends of Riverhill who believe in our mission.
The entire Riverhill Family is given the opportunity to make a contribution to the Annual Giving Campaign to help meet our budget needs. These funds make up roughly fifteen percent of the budget.
The Riverhill Association of Parents and Staff (RAPS) conducts multiple fundraisers throughout the school year. Funds from these events are given to the school and make up about eight percent of the budget.
The Riverhill Foundation provides funds for capital improvements of the campus and long-range projects (such as the future campus relocation). Gifts to this fund are invested and managed by the Riverhill Foundation Trustees.
Annual Giving
Though our families pay tuition to fund teacher salaries and a supply fee to cover the cost of books, markers, and paper products, these funds simply do not cover the entire cost of running a school of our caliber. Rather than raising tuition beyond many families’ reach, our administration has done everything possible to lower costs without sacrificing the integrity of our program.
Therefore, just like other independent schools, we rely on tax-deductible gifts from parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends in order to fully fund our students’ education.
Riverhill School is one of the few schools in the area with no debt, and the Board continues to work diligently to stay debt free to assure the financial strength of our school as we work to continually upgrade the quality of its programs.
We understand that our families’ giving capacity is as diverse as our student body. Therefore, we look outside our doors for additional sources of funding.
