3rd Grade

Third grade is full of many exciting opportunities! Students begin to make the transition from primary grades to the intermediate level, starting with writing in cursive. Students have many new opportunities such as reading novels rather than just basal readers. They prepare and present a number of projects for reading and social studies, beginning the year by making their very own Freckle Juice. In math, students are challenged to learn multiplication and even long division. Science is not just in the classroom; they also meet with other the Science Lab teacher once a week to do more science activities. In addition to the academic portion of third grade, students are involved in a number of social activities with their first grade buddies. Third grade is a wonderful year for the students to learn responsibility and independence!
